AS05.4;

AS05.4 – Design Articulations was a revision of AS05, serving as the last step before the final jury. In this stage, we were expected to consider the hinge as a key design tool to study and articulate the relationships between different elements within our work. By zooming in on specific points of our design, we aimed to explore how one element acknowledges the presence of another while maintaining their individual identities.

The hinge could be expressed through a variety of methods, such as changes in emphasis (e.g., thickness or texture), formal or visual alterations (e.g., slits, subtractions, indentations), or other techniques. This exploration focused on the potential of in-between conditions, refining and enhancing the details of the relations we had already been working on.

We were tasked with developing an overall approach to articulating these in-between conditions, ensuring that the interactions between elements were carefully considered and integrated into the design. This phase of the assignment was crucial for honing the precision, depth, and coherence of our work in preparation for the final jury presentation.
